E-Waste (Electronic Waste)

E-waste consists of discarded electronic devices such as computers, mobile phones, circuit boards, batteries, and other electrical components. Proper e-waste management prevents harmful chemicals from contaminating the environment and allows valuable metals to be recovered and reused.

India currently ranks third among the world’s largest e-waste generators, producing approximately 5.2 million metric tons annually. This marks a sharp rise from 1.3 million tons in 2021, with projections reaching 5.2 million tons by 2025. E-waste is increasing rapidly each day, raising serious environmental and health concerns.
